BRAYLEY REYNOLDS RIP ... 23:35 - Sep 6 with 1588 viewstheloneranger

"Swansea City is saddened to learn of the passing of the club’s former player Brayley Reynolds at the age of 88.

The Blackwood-born centre-forward spent six seasons with the Swans between1959 and 1965, scoring 58 goals in 150 league appearances for the club.

Reynolds had played for Cardiff City before joining the Swans, and would make a habit of scoring against his old club as he netted a record eight competitive south Wales derby goals in Swansea colours.

He scored in Swansea’s 1961 Welsh Cup final triumph, and went on to be the club’s leading marksman during the 1961-62 and 1963-64 campaigns.

Reynolds returned to non-league football with Lovell’s Athletic in the summer of 1965. He also featured for Merthyr Tydfil and Worcester City before a recurring ankle injury ended his career.

He would later work at Penallta Colliery and represented Blackwood Town at cricket for a number of years.

Everyone at Swansea City sends their sincerest condolences to Brayley’s family and friends at this sad time."
