Swansea staff are seemingly looking after number one not the club. The club develops players for other clubs to benefit economically not Swansea.
They let good prospects go as they are notionally of no personal benefit. If they develop players someone will get the plaudits not them. They are "doing favours" by taking raw players from Premier league academies with talent and a zero prospect of signing permanently.
This is why the club should stick with Watson for the long term. Give him time.
