| Things will get better 19:59 - Nov 2 with 1994 views | Southamptonfan | Honestly, I knew WS wasn't right for this massive role, which required such experience and know-how in this league. In previous seasons, I would agree that we didnt have the players. I don't agree with that this year, apart from the striker. Things will get better, as long as they get in a respected,.experienced manager. Things will.improve this time.if we do that. [Post edited 2 Nov 20:00]

No one could be less experienced than Still other than an actual child, so things will improve from this very low base.
| I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it. |

Exactly right. He wasn't LEADING the team. Fellows, Azaz, Sciensa, Armstrong and many more are NOT terrible players. They were being badly managed.

Equally as much I got it completely wrong this morning when I Posted that I thought Sports Republic would stick with him for the rest of the season. Confession is good for soul I suppose ! Where do we go from here ? I’ve simply no idea much I suspect the same as Sports Republic.

An excellent post saintmark and I was also worried they would stick with Still until the international break but I'm so relieved they have sacked him. Nothing personal to him, I could just see the players didn't respect him and I knew they never would. He's too dull, quietly spoken, and no experience. Sports Republic have made many mistakes, they have been dreadful, but I hope, and it is just a hope that sport Republic just for once, appoint an experienced manager, who can try and sort out this mess. There is still a chance of the play offs and I am convinced that the players will play better now he's gone. If not, we will continue our protests against Sports Republic anyway. It's within their interest for Saints to start winning games. I do think we have the players to be doing much better then we are. Hopefully, they get the next manager right and we.improve. we shall see. [Post edited 3 Nov 0:14]

My nephew asked me as he drove us down on the morning of the Wrexham game “how do you think the new manager will do?” “He’ll be sacked by your birthday” I replied. His birthday is 19th November. I take no pleasure in this as it ultimately means Southampton FC are under performing. But you could see he wasn’t the man for this job. Will Still is a multi millionaire now so good luck to him. Who is the next clown to be appointed by Sport Republic?

Would you have told the man that is paying your wages that he didn't know what he was doing. ?

It was Trollope and Lallana themselves that were supposed to provide that experience. That's why they were appointed rather than WS bringing his brother Nicolas who was his assistant in France. So I doubt they'll be blaming it all on a lack of experience.
| Things will get better on 14:48 - Nov 3 with 1053 views | templarinexile | Everyone is understandably calling for an experienced manager/ disciplinarian/ miracle worker. But who / where is this person? Certainly not amongst the names currently being bandied around. With SR at the helm, we have become a loathsome proposition for any coach/manger with a pedigree. Hence SR will have to once again scrape the barrel - or waste another few dollars in the last chance saloon -how many last chances are there? It would be great to experience the new manger bounce, but, without other key components (striker, CB, keeper etc.) I feel deflation is more likely. | | | |
| Things will get better on 15:42 - Nov 3 with 995 views | 1885_SFC | You're not alone. The majority of us have no faith whatsoever in SR getting the next manager appointment right either. Will Still was a big problem in our demise. Sport Republic are an even bigger one. | |
