EFL Panini sticker album 20:20 - Jan 25 with 5665 viewsLowerloftLad

I recently folded into good old fashioned nostalgia and have started collecting the EFL sticker book and i was wondering if any other loft for words posters are also collecting?

Always remember the exact moment we found out that you could just..ask panini for stickers.

For years, there was furious swapping trying to get the last few stickers in your collection. It was a huge thing! Then this day someone found the form at the back of the book with Panini's address in it. You could write to them and ask for the stickers you needed.

You had them a week later.
It was brilliant, but too easy.
That was the end of Panini for all of us. Just too easy.

You'll need at least 4 of the 36 pack boxes which comes in at £144! What have I got myself into?

I might buy the album and a few sticker packs (for our children, obviously!) just for fun but don't think I'll even vaguely attempt to complete it!

I still have the completed '85 and '86 albums in the attic. Such a thrill opening a pack and seeing that foil, an Ipswich full-back you already had seven swaps of, and the poor Scottish lads getting half a sticker each.

This is well worth buying (if you're okay with cheating):

If that's the sticker for Smyth, what will the Saito sticker look like??

Do newer albums have Stats Guy stickers? I can imagine Brentford would have a page of PhD boffins, as well as the foil badge of the bus stop.

Picked up an album and some additional sticker packs in my local Asda. Only one QPR player so far, Poku.

Was the sticker injured?

Anyone at the game on Sat doing some swaps? Probably taking my lad to the family area pre-game if so?

Hello mate, I'll be in the fanzone pre-match with my boy around 1 - half 1 and will get him to bring his swaps (he has loads). He will be really pleased to meet other collectors!

Looking at that page, they seem to have got rid of the team photo sticker (assuming because it isn't taken pre-season anymore), the team manager/coach sticker (assuming because they'll be sacked before the album comes out) and the player bios (society dumbing down since the 1980s, kids don't read, old man shouting at a cloud, etc.)

The player photos must have been taken pre season as a few of the team shirts have no sponsor on the front (including QPR).

Anyway we got the shiny Jimmy Dunne sticker, so I think we can stop now.

I think any club with a gambling sponsor has had it removed for the stickers.

I've been trying to collect, although I feel I'm quite behind and need to get a shift on before shops stop selling them toward the end of the year. Moving house in December with a 6 month old baby caused a bit of stress, to put it lightly...

They originally released this in two parts (which I’ve got) and I can’t recommend it enough. Some great trips down memory lane and together it’s an enormous set. The only year I ever completed though was 86 and I remember having a double someone at school needed to complete his set. I ended up with a 5 inch thick pile of his swaps in exchange for the one he needed.. ah happy days!
