Disliked by many of our supporters, but was it Grimes or the way he was asked to play. He was captain on and off the pitch and did a lot to help new players/families integrate into the area, but again many didn't like his relaxed style to captaincy. Similarly to Jack Cork who was not appreciated by supporters, both left us and captained sides to promotion. So were supporters right or wrong.

Its always interesting to see how former players turn out. If you take Whittaker for example, he was a problem with us and needed to go in my opinion. But there were many times last season we could have done with him wide right, just my thoughts. |
We've disagreed on Whittaker before. I maintain that RM was at least 50% of that problem and nothing that has happened with either individual since changes my mind on that. He's a very capable Championship goalscorer. Perhaps one of those without the ability to make the next step.
There's been plenty of players over the years who have not been hugely popular here but have gone on to do well elsewhere. Hell, Grimes is not the only ex-Swan in that Coventry squad, and at least two of them weren't exactly fan favourites. |  |

I just thought he had every right to be pissed off at the way he was being treated, especially by a thin skinned Martinet like Russy.
If he'd been a competent manager that would have been one thing. That he didn't have a clue what he was doing made it worse. | |

Martin did have a habit with falling out with players. Well rumoured Patterson, Whittaker etc. But if memory serves me right I remember rumours of him playing up and he did the same when trying to get the move to other clubs after Swansea. Who knows. |  | | |
