Not sure if this is a deal we need to be pursuing, as able as he no doubt is.
We've already got Widell and Franco who are both capable #8's. What we need is a Galbraith replacement. Someone to sit deep and set the tempo. Stamenic can't do it based on last season's evidence. Far too slow on the ball. Don't want Fulton doing it either ideally.
The only way this makes sense is if we're changing the midfield shape. Have a DM sitting there doing nothing but defending with two CM's dropping deep to pick the ball up. Having just the one CM in that situation leaves too big a gap in midfield and your forward line starved of ball. That leaves Walta jobless. |  |

As much as they have both excelled, Fulton especially at times over the last few years, both he and Cullen should be seen as strictly back up to back up. I can’t see this team getting near to any promised land if they start games.

Of the two I'd prefer Fulton. There's an urgency on the ball with him that's been almost entirely absent with Stamenic.
In an ideal world it'd be neither. Both would have a role to play over a season, but we need better at six than them and we've got better in other positions already. | |

Cullen's not even backup for me. Can snatch the odd goal but he's woefully short of the standard required in basically every other aspect of the game. It's not as if he's still a youngster either. He turns 28 this season.
If Vipotnik stays then LC is third choice at best, and I'd be tempted to give Wales more game time if all we need is a reserve. I'd be looking to move him on completely. | |

We need midfielders & wide players chipping in with regular goals, whether that's a change in personel or a change in style.
I'd agree that Cullen isn't good enough but he does add a goal threat that is all too rare in our squad.
Hopefully Walta will step up, there were promising signs in the last game of the season. |  | | |
