"A health board boss has received a £30,000 pay increase amid an ongoing dispute between the health board and some of its workers who claim they are being underpaid.
Amid the dispute Unite the union claim the director of Cwm Taf health board has received a pay increase and say the health visitors will continue to strike. The health board said it is "disappointed" with the union's decision to extend strike action.
Unite say Hywel Daniel has received a £30,000 pay increase on top of his £200,000 earnings.".
So theres no jobs or money for front line staff but this balloon is worth paying more than a Prime Minister !!!

Thanks. I find it very hard to believe that only 164 Doctors and Nurses were employed in that period of time. Across the sector in Wales there are about 9,000 doctors and about 40,000 nurses, so that number seems incredibly low particularly with them all from overseas when we have nursing colleges here turning out about 40 graduates each annually. Since February 2025 47 Doctors & 117 nurses have been employed by the Welsh NHS , all from overseas . Planning obviously isn’t part of his remit or is it . |
There was some kind of recruitment freeze, so were any Doctors and Nurses employed from UK because there are scores of newly qualified nurses waiting for posts and can't work as bank healthcare just for some money as their PIN doesn't allow it |  |

There wasn't the freeze last year that was quoted. This year just over 700 nurses have found positions from the colleges, hence me questioning last years numbers, particularly the all from abroad.
