Swansea form - league table 12:17 - Feb 12 with 876 viewsBobJack

http://m.premierleague.com/en-gb/form-guide.html

Last 6 away matches we are better than average just, 9th best.

Home form ( last 6 home matches) and combined form, see us drop to 13th.

So yes we are going through a bad patch but so are alot of other teams.

Last night was just the culmination (let's hope the nadir) of a number of disjointed performances, hence the usual football fan internet over-reaction. I remember the same when we lost at Burnley in our promotion season. We're all just walking goldfish really, especially Jackfish, he's very fishy.

Historically, we always used to take a voluntary mid winter break anyway. Seems we're keeping our identity and sticking to the 'Swansea Way'. Sometimes, the mid winter break would last into May and the following season (since christened the 'Laudrup' in loving memory of the most recent, but not the first, architect of such a phenomenon).

9th they dams 7 on match of the day we were in free fall.

That is not bad when if you read some posts on this forum
We have a crap manager
Played crap for months
Don't score goals
Concede loads

I reckon that monk must be a magician to get us to 9th in the premier league with all those things going against you.

That should state "they said on match of the day"

Even what feels like poor recent form, the points are still there and certainly not in freefall.

A good performance against Man U is vital even if result does not go our way.

wonder what approach Monk will use, if we sit off like we did when Chelsea came I can't see a happy ending.

A team in transition for sure at the moment.

So are United. No great shakes at all. Van Ghoul is just an uglier Moyes. Certainly no need to sit off them.

But Man U transition involves no loss in their last 6 away matches and won 5 of their last 6 home matches.

They are due an away loss, here's hoping.

A team in transition to what though... it seems clear that Monk is moving us away from a passing based possession game with an emphasis on pressing teams, but what he wants in it's place seems unclear.

I have no idea what he's trying to do and it doesn't appear the players no either.

I thought it was quite clear. We prioritise defensive shape at all costs - defend the edge of our box as a priority. We then look to capitalise on mistakes/space as it opens up. Which works ok up to a point. Last night we abandoned that because WB sat back and we went in search of a winner and we're left exposed both times.
