Didn't help his cause that they went and signed Sam Hutchinson right after he arrived, so he was up against two experienced players in him and Jason Puncheon, plus Finland international Onni Valakari (who came on as a sub against Wales recently) in the midfield pecking order. Bit like when Connor went to Boro and within a few days they'd signed Ryan Shotton.

Cyprus league is ranked 15th ahead of Switzerland, Greece, Croatia, Sweden etc. in UEFA coefficients and Pafos spend a fair wedge for the division. Think it's Ukrainian money coming in. Bit of a basket case of a club with a revolving door of managers, and consistently underperform relative to their means. Poor luck for Jack after Mansfield last season, similar situation. I agree with you of course. Its a shame for Jack. As long as he leaves knowing he could have done no more. Getting loan players games is no easy feat, as seen with Grimes and Roberts previously. They are used as cheap bench fillers. | |
