Ollie Cooper what next? 18:55 - May 14 with 647 viewsReslovenSwan1

Had a year in the first team squad. Where does he go from here? Dhanda looking for games time. Byers returning. Are Dhanda and Byers's careers at Swansea numbered?

Has this season benefited him? Only two games as subs with a goal v Forest. A few games with the u23 perhaps. Does just training and not playing for a year really help development?. Same with Latibeaudiere and Whittaker I suppose.

Off on loan presmably? This can be difficult. A much more experienced player like Byers did not get much of a look in. Joe Lewis got good games at Torquay before being released.

Where is the best place to send him if at all?

Will he get 10-15 games next season if in the Championship if he stays?

Sometimes you have to show faith in your young players or no one else will. Didn't seem to be any interest in him last summer above Welsh Prem level. Stock should have risen since then but you can't just send them to any old club and expect them to play. Even Connor needed injuries to clear the way for him at Yeovil.

If we don't win the playoffs then the budget is slashed again for next season with the parachute payments running out, so the young players who aren't on big wages become even more important to a squad. Some will want to go out on loans but there's not an abundance of depth in the u23s ready to play backup roles.

He must play surely. He has barely played at all this season. This cannot be good practice? I do not see the point of Cooper doing nothing and the u23 getting walloped with 16 year olds. The bubble idea did not stop other teams moving players around.

Garrick at least has got a good run of games and got rid of the idea his boddy could not cope with a run of games. Perhaps Ollie should get a summer season somewhere. USA would be good but failing that Ireland with Camaron Evans. Interestingly the same owner of both Swindon and Waterford.

Waterford a bit of a shambles this season. Poor results and had to field the u19s for a recent fixture due to covid issues. Some good reviews of Cam, though, and the gametime will be doing him good (when allowed to play).
