It's hard to pass any comment at all apart from the fact our country is utterly warped to ee a care system such as we have.
It's all about money then.
Now then ,where to start? Maybe from the top and see the Monarchy take the lead and flog off all the Palaces apart from Buck House and see the royal family actually earn a living. Then , have those of grotesque wealth pay up as they should.Dont like it then bugger off.
We have enough wealth to ensure we treat old people who need care properly and not simply let them die. We're not all like ron stump ,surely. |  |

He has the good grace to admit he failed. I cant think of too many politicians that do that,
This is the result of decades of underfunding and old people seen as trailer trash ,locked away sitting in their own faeces and unable to vote. No wonder they pay over a grand per week to be fed sausage roll and chips for tea from a carer on minimum wage. They can't complain and so are simply ignored.
We have large scale demos on our streets about the world getting warmer and houses needing insulation and kids getting all uptight with old people who have stolen their childhoods. But we have thousands daily selling their homes for the privilege of being in a "care" home.,although if you need 24/7 care it'll cost ya-big time.

The issue has been ignored for decades. The recent increase in NI is the first time a dedicated initiative has been put in place. The only affordable way out is to move to a German model where there is a standard healthcare system topped up by private insurance.
The idealistic politically affected will complain about a private system saying we should tax the wealthy more. Biden has stepped back from taxing the 1 percent as they already pay 40 percent of US taxes and are quite capable of relocating or rearranging their affairs. In the German system the wealthy pay more and subsidise the state system.
We need to stop pretending we can cover this all through taxation. |  |

My dad ran a successful business for many years, had a stroke in his eighties and was in a care home for ten years. The bill was £700K. We sold his house and used his savings.
In the next room was a guy funded by the state, he had no assets, he did not pay a penny for his care.

It matter not.
What I am talking about is the SYSTEM we have. It ha sweet FA to do with individual MP expenses more the whole rotten system we live under.
Balls and Cooper are not super millionaires .
Also not sure too many Tory MPs or ex MP would be getting their hands literally full of faeces even for a TV prog. Can't imagine Boris ,Raab or lovely Teresa nice legs May doing a programme of that nature.
To me,he seemed genuinely shocked and his concern heartfelt.
