He will have to live with that decision to drive that day for the rest of his life.,
I feel sorry for all, the family even the driver, he was not in the right mind at the time, but there has to be a deterrent..
There are some evil bast%%ds around, who commit knowingly more heinous crimes, and will get away with a lighter sentence.
The only one thing I hope out of this awful tragedy, is that it highlights the implications to any wannabe chancers of doing the same thing. |  |

The penalty for causing death by dangerous driving is far too light compared to sentences for other crimes where death results, in particular manslaughter, which effectively is what this crime amounted to.
It begs the question as to what sentence this person would have received had he been convicted of manslaughter. |  | | |

Everybody knows that drinking / using drugs whilst driving is a dangerous and potentially lethal decision. I can't find an once of sympathy with the driver. Tragic and needless for the victims and their family. [Post edited 9 Apr 2022 10:01]

He knew exactly what he was doing? I doubt it, not after 10 cans of bow, and a few lines of coke, his decision making was impaired.
I have no sympathy for him for his sentence, as I said there has to be a deterrent, I just feel sorry for him, that he will regret that day for the rest of his life..
It seems many people drink and drive, and normally end up in court receive a 2 year ban and a fine, and it's end of story. what happened on his drunken journey home is one of the worst scenarios imaginable. | |

It will deservedly haunt him for the rest of his life. Hes robbed a family of the 2 most precious things in their lives. His own kids have also lost their father albeit not permanently and will have to grow up with the shame of his actions. Safe to say the prison sentence is the easy bit even if it was 20 times the term. | | | |
