My world didn't stop. Yes, there are a lot of empty headed fools who cannot deal with a bit of adverse weather. Yes, too many local councils are just never properly prepared, for anything out of the ordinaty, it seems. Yes, a lot of people will use the bad weather as an excuse not to go to work. What puzzles me is, so many people have these big 4X4's these days but more thn ever, people use snow as an excuse even when it's a few centimetres. I got up and walked the dog at 5am in the snow, I went home, made my food and at 06.40 I left for work. Ni fuss, no drama.

Had very little of the stuff up here, there was snow, but it wasn't causing any issues unlike earlier in the year, it may have been thicker at some point during the early hours but it was nothing to complain about at around half 6.

I have noticed recently the gritters have been out around dinner time afternoon periods just as the rush hour traffic picks up and sweeps the rockslate into the gutter , good for us cyslists ( its where we normally end up ) not so for car drivers and the like. I must admit owning a 4x4 not for any status symbolism (its quite old ) but its easy to get into , practical for lugging stuff about and for carrying the dogs .

Hope your dogs are Huskies , just in case of a snowflake sticking , they could be lifesavers . Think the Coucil reasoning is get the grit on the road before the drop in temperature and solve the problem , then the salt will work as it should , most of it ends up in the kerbs and drains after a lot of rush hour traffic .
