Russell Martin worshipers. Who are they exactly? 12:33 - May 3 with 1025 viewsReslovenSwan1

The dry old forum divas and flag wavers on this site and others like to talk about people who 'worship Russ'.

I do not recognise this or know anyone who is 100% pro Russ. I see a lot of scepticism and need to see real actual signs of progress. The owner of this site probably being the most enthusiastic about Russ.

I personally like the process and style but have doubts Martin is sufficiently focused on results. The game on Saturday had to be a win. One of those defining moments. The team never looked sufficiently driven to get the 3 required.

The ability to win big games. The first "win or bust" game on Martin's CV in over 4 seasons. Much more important than Cardff city. The audition was a failure. It was a bust.

I believe Russ had his collar felt in January and this fired him up a bit. The owners parked a tank on his lawn. He saw that tank every morning and started delivering. Some people need their collar felt others do not. No one had their collar felt on Saturday. It is a one year rolling contract for Russ in my opinion.

That’s an easy one,

- People who blame the players and owners when on a bad run, and praise him when we are on a good one.

- People who immediately back his word over anyone else’s at the club, even when they have no idea what the truth is.

- People who can’t bring themselves to accept that he’s deviated away from his much self-hyped process after he had to face the fact it failed - and pretend it was his master plan all along.

In short, those who intentionally subvert reality in order to play into the Russell Martin myth.
