As one gets older ,it most certainly is hard to keep weight from increasing exponentially.
If KOL hasn’t health issues then he needs to watch it . He is in the perfect place to ensure he keeps weight appropriate.
I was very active until my late fifties and was still playing squash three times a week and swimming 2 miles a week. I never went over 80 kgs.I am 1.81 m
When I retired in my early 60s ,I simply went to the gym for social reasons really as many do and my weight crept up to 83 kgs .
In my seventies now,my weight has crept up to 87 kgs and it’s very very hard to shift the weight which is all on my stomach ,the very worst place to carry it.it takes discipline to keep weight off ad I lack it.
