Two 3 G pitches built?,, two more to come? 13:27 - Aug 5 with 1912 viewsReslovenSwan1

From this report the Club was obligated to build two 3 G pitches in South West wales every 5 years as part of the stadium take over deal. It was not stated if this was conditional on staying in the Premier league.

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/

This was in 2018 so two are presumably in full use and two more under construction. Does anyone have any facts on this? Right up the street of the SCST I would think.

This is an extract.

"Included in the new arrangement is a commitment by the club to fund the construction of two new 3G pitches in Swansea every five years for community use".

You will find that this is the work of the Swans Foundation, I believe 4 pitches have already been built.

THE SWANS, WORKING IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Swansea City AFC Foundation has been working at the heart of the community for the last 15 years and more.

As the charitable arm of the club, we strive to inspire and engage people from all backgrounds from across South West Wales.

We are supported mainly through grants from the Premier League Charitable Fund to deliver a range of initiatives which are outlined throughout this document.

Our mission is to use Swansea City AFC as a force for positive change within our communities, creating the conditions needed for communities to flourish. We aim to do this through:

Building Prosperity – inspiring educational achievement and entrepreneurial spirit
Developing Resilience – offering experiences and relationships that support mental health and nurture optimism
Improving Health – encouraging a love of exercise and healthy food
Supporting Inclusivity – supporting the most disadvantaged and working for equality and inclusion
Sustainably growing the Foundation – ensuring the long-term financial stability of the Charity and managing its environmental impact

..."but Cllr Stewart said the football club was not obliged to fund 3G pitches when they were in the Championship."

Like all things relating to our society the devil is in the detail. Every thing has to be checked. Narratives are not enough. Good find.
