Keith very kindly agreed to promote this event on the website and I'm pleased to provide a few background words for info.
After suffering total kidney failure out of the blue, and then a couple of years on dialysis my son had a successful kidney transplant in 2014.
He was always a keen sportsman and following the formation in recent years of the โ€˜Wales Transplant Teamโ€™ he has enjoyed the honour of representing the country at the British Transplant Games as well as attending regular training sessions throughout the year. This has been an invaluable experience to allow continued participation in sport with fellow pre and post-transplant patients.
The team receive no central funding support and rely on contributions from charities in Wales. Therefore the team are very grateful to former Swansea City star defender Michael Howard, whose wife is a renal nurse at Morriston hospital, for putting together a Swansea All-Star XI to face the Wales Transplant Team in what will be a fantastic exhibition game and charity fundraising funday event.
The day promises to be very enjoyable, with the match against Swansea City Allstars, who will be managed on the day by Lee Trundle, (sadly Lee canโ€™t play due to injury).
There is also a fantastic raffle with a huge number of amazing high value prizes and an auction of sporting memorabilia, including signed items including a jersey of the current Wales RWC squad, Swansea City, Manchester United and many individual stars from Premier League teams.
Do please come along and support if you are able or PM me if you are unable to and want me to buy some raffle tickets for you, (we can arrange a bank transfer).
Finally if you know someone who is pre or post-transplant and would like to be involved with the Wales Transplant Team please come along on the day or PM me their details and I will pass on.
The Wales Transplant Team and the British Transplant Games cover a wide variety of sports including football, archery, cycling, athletics, swimming, bowls, golf and even indoor sports like snooker and darts and gives those taking part a lot of fulfillment.

Thanks for your support,
