Carl Froch and Tyson Fury exchange words over Froch’s comments where he snapped back at Fury for saying he boxes for money. Froch said Fury will never be dining on the top table with legends like himself at the Boxing Hall of Fame events.
Fury recently told Sky Sports how he isn’t too interested in facing the likes of Anthony Joshua or Usyk saying how he wants to get as much money as he can in fights against the likes of Ngannou and Jon Jones.
Fury told Sky Sports: “When I come back into boxing I said I wanted to make the most money as possible, that’s what I said to my lawyer. I didn’t come back this time for belts or titles or anything, I come back to secure my family and their family and their kids and their grandkids. I have no interest in fighting those guys (Joshua and Usyk) because I’m bigger than all of ‘em. I’m a superstar, they’re nobodies. The reason why I’m even boxing anymore is to get the biggest bags possible.”
Carl Froch responded to Tyson Fury speaking on his own podcast: “Alright, you're taking the money, that's great, but when your career's over you want your legacy to be intact. The fans are turning against you - it's sad to see. Deep down I think you know you're hurting the sport. You're taking the money instead of being full of pride for the sport. I'll tell you something as well - you can have as much money as you want, but if you turn up to a Hall of Fame party next year, you won't be dining on the top table with me and my peers. You won't belong there with that CV.”
