A few weeks before the match with Exeter at the Vetch my wife, son and myself went to see Uri Geller in the Grand.
We got talking to him after the show and spoke to him a week or so after on the phone ( he gave us his number).
Met up with him at the Vetch when we played Exeter City and spent all of half time chatting to him.

I was going to watch a Swans youth game and I saw a guy walking on the pavement opposite just outside the prison and I thought to myself "That guy looks exactly like Uri Geller"....
and I thought nothing more, just thinking it was a looky-likey untill I went into the centre stand to see him sitting two rows in front of me. Surreal expereince!
It was indeed Ur Geller....His nephew 'Lior David' was playing for what I guess was a Swans youth trial, I guess arranged via Mike Lewis?
Anyhow I left after the game to be told later that the worlds number one spoon-magician did his usual spoon trickery behind the stand after the game had finished.
I often wonder does he get fed up of bending spoons and was Frank Sinatra sick and tired of singing "My Way"???? |  |

I'm not quite sure how Lewis entertaining Geller at the Vetch fits in, but this seems to link to another story that features these two and is well known to Exeter City fans. Geller's son Daniel was a big Grecians fan and around 2002 Geller took over as Exeter co-chairman, with Mike Lewis and John Russell(ex-Scarborough) entering the picture shortly afterwards. The latter two used their positions to line their pockets, while taking over the club after the former chairman Ivor Doble decided to retire. Russell and Lewis ended up with a fraud conviction and the Grecians became a fan-owned club. | | | |
