Leicester gone.
Ipswich on a roll but they will have a slump.
Otherwise it’s wide open.
It’s no stronger than last year, despite what others say.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I think it will come down to who strengthens the best in January.

Curse!
Don't worry the panel will look at the Caaardiff game and never give him an award again!
Untill we are walking up to pick up the play off trophy at the end of the season!

We are going UP!

January will need to be good, I can see us having strong offers for Key, Wood and possibly Cullen.

The league is the same this year as it has been for quite a few years. There will be one or two very good sides, two or three terrible ones, and anyone else in the middle who can put together a couple of good runs of form will fancy their chances at the playoffs. That last group probably includes us.

Every year we get predictions that the league is getting tougher. Every year it's the same as the last.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Actually I thought it was quite poor last season, that's how we still got close to the play offs despite winning only 3 times in 21 games.

This year it is noticeably stronger. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. We are already looking stronger than last season despite our injuries and our terrible start.

Consistency is the key, that is the same every season.

I’m not sure. Leicester look like they are going to walk it. Leeds will have a good run. I think Ipswich and Preston will fall away.

I honestly don’t think we’ve played anyone that good yet. Norwich were probably the best. We were just woeful ourselves for 6/7 games.

We'll see I guess BUT if we only won 3 times in the next 21 games this season I reckon we'll be close to relegated this season and not close to the play offs.

Not if we win 7 or 8 of our last 10 again.

We’ve seen that already this season. After 6 games it was our worst start since the early 90s. 3 weeks later, we’re mid table and look capable of a playoff push.

On March 14th this year we were 17th in the table and only eight points off the relegation zone. That late run masked just how bad we were that season and just how screwed we could have been if Martin hadn't abandoned the process.

Like I said earlier. A team that can find some consistency will always have a chance at finishing 3-6. One good run boosted us from the fringes of the drop zone to near the playoffs. Two such runs might have seen us in them.

That's what I think is the difference this season though, most of us could see the problem last season and as Dr W says, Martin abandoned his "process" for those last 9 games which saved us. Who we are now under Duff is very different but if we had that kind of run now it would be because we were genuinely bad not just badly run. In which case I wouldn't see us having that run again.

I don't see it happening though because we look like a proper team this season, they are all working for each other in a much better way and we make pragmatic choces now, like hoofing the ball away when we need to.

I agree with most of that. Neither run is likely to happen, particularly not the bad one.

We’ve seen similar this season. 5 at the back, long balls to players who aren’t suited to competing for them in the channels and very little attacking cohesion. Duff goes 4 at the back, starts what is effectively a rotating front 4 and suddenly we look better going forward than we ever did under either Martin or Cooper.

In fairness, we do launch it when we need to, but we also play entertaining football.

I don’t buy he’s evolved his tactics and was always going to do this, he’s abandoned what he was doing and found an effective way of playing which is also good to watch.

What he’s done much, much quicker than Martin is binned plan A and found a way of winning.
