So, that's police, and solicitors i don't trust, any more? I almost forget, social workers!

They are not all the same. The solicitor we use, Jennider Melly (not on the telly OR in Viz) is brilliant and dead straight.

Lumping all in with the few bad ones is unfair.

Not as unfair as the poor bugger here
No solicitor putsclients before self
Ever
No, they are not all the same any more than police officers are
This is a shocking case of taking advantage of a dying man
There are countless similar tales
We trust these people to handle our affairs when the laws of the land demand so and that makes us all vulnerable

Thank you for conceding that not all solicitors are the same and that applies to police officers too . However your last paragraph could equally apply to the police in as much as we trust those people to protect us and and uphold the laws of the land . Unfortunately it has become evident over the years and in the very recent past that makes us vulnerable too .

No need to thank me
Point I was making was this event is staggering but no approbrium on here at all.
Police are vilified whatever they do or don’t do.
Fail to do something, they get hammered . Do something and it’s wrong.

Thank you

Hence my belief that the people who make the laws and who are then charged with upholding those laws and prosecuting the criminals should be held to higher standards than us ordinary slobs.

The lawyer in this case has been sanctioned but for my money he should be struck off and facing criminal charges for misuse of power. A terminally ill person should never be asked to sign something without an independent witness and family being there.

This poor mans family have been ripped off for a small fortune and the "deal" will apparently be allowed to stand which is also an absolute disgrace. Scotland needs to change the rule there.

Isn't there an ombudsman sort of thing that can be complained too, also don't they have to sign up to an insurance agreement to cover errors and misconduct?
