The thing about 1960’s bands was they were extremely disadvantaged by recording studio technology of the time.
1960’s records often sounded like their songs were recorded with just one single take and sounded more like a basic jamming session or a live performance i.e. one or two guitars, bass guitar, drums, backing vocals and lead singer vocals and that was it.
The sound reproduction was also awful at times i.e. mono and tinny.
Then came the 1970’s with recording studio technology advancement. That created a multi-tracked layered stereo sound complete with overdubs, that gave off an orchestra-effect of many more instruments than what the band could play at any given time. Add to that synthesisers and other effects.
The Beatles were a great group, wrote extremely memorable tunes, great song writing creates tunes that never get forgotten. The band deserved high fidelity reproduction and better technology! This song for example deserved it!

Our family had a 1960's wooden mono radiogramme that was about five feet in length and stood on four wooden legs and would require two men to carry it in and out of those house.
I was then in 1974 gifted this exact model, come more compact (albeit still mono) modern piece of kit to play my mothers old record collection e.g. Connie Francis etc. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/
The first single I had bought for me was ABBA's Waterloo and my first LP was Cy Payne & His Orchestra: Childrens TV Themes. That album had a unique sound because its tracks sounded nothing at all like the originals. I suspect it may have something to do with LSD that was still circulating around from the 1960's?

She was great...By the time I was ten I was fully familiar with songs like Ray Pilgrim “If I had an Hammer… Wink Martindale “Deck of cards”..... Elvis Presley “Wooden Heart”..... Elvis Presley “Return to sender”..... The Honeycombs “ Have I the right”….Cilla Black “You’re my world” Adam Faith “What do you want” from the family record pile. Some songs are never forgotten and are remembered decades latter
The 1960's heavily influenced what was too follow a decade later, I have read that so many times with so many interviews from 1970's recording artists.

Sorry but the 50's music leaves me cold, the 60's what era for all types of genres , 70's innovative, the 80's possibly the most melodic with music still very much part of my daily listening pleasure In no particular order but my current playlist is a combination of Big Band , Swing, Acid house, classical , Rock pop ,

Early fifties saw number 1 s like ,How much is that doggie in the window. It also saw Frankie Laine s magnificent tenor belting out great tunes . Mid fifties saw Elvis wake us up with Its Alright mama, then the Everlys take harmony to a new level which hasn’t been surpassed even now.
1970 s for me , Johnnie Walkers Sounds of the Seventies on Radio 2 is great listening .
Apart from a few tracks anything after 2000 , I have little interest . Like some Taylor Swift stuff and also , the recent single Vampie , by Olivia Rodrigues was the best thing I had heard in a long time .

I always listen to Johnny Walker on a Sunday and I also listen to the Owen Money shows on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I was born in the mid 60’s and am stuck in a time warp when it comes to music. I’m happy to listen to 50’s 60’s, 70’s and early to mid 80’s music, but that’s it. One or two more modern tunes, but that is it. I don’t go a bundle on Elvis, but could listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival all day.

Many are stuck in this glorious time warp. Elvis died when he went into the army

As you mentioned dying , your thoughts on this . Myself although I did prefer (at the time ) the Beatles over the Stones , this should have been left in the archives

Heard it just after it was announced and it’s a pleasant ditty. Not sure if it is exactly memorable but we are wrapped in the duvet of sentiment . My view is that the pinacle of The Beatles was Sgt Pepper .
