I have had the fortune / misfortune (you decide) of working with and for Americans. In general as witnessed at first hand on more than one occasion they come in and appear articulate & knowledgeable. They ask all the right questions & befriend you, saying all the right things. They listen and discuss your thoughts & ways of working in all levels of detail.
Then Wham!! Your ideas, work methods and words are stolen. They act on what they have sucked out of you as if everything is their idea, practically believing they have reinvented the wheel. In reality all they are interested in is self serving, raising their own personal profile (look at me) & demonstrating to their paymasters how good they are. Narcissistic probably sums it up best. Just my own personal experience, but I can see a lot of that happening here and now

He keeps saying we have to give it enough time to appoint the right man. They appointed the 'right' man (in their opinion) four months ago.
I have almost no confidence that they'll make the correct decision this time and even less confidence that they'll back the manager financially as they should have backed SC and RM.
The article says they want to get their money back and the only way they'll achieve that is by getting us promoted back to the PL. They've shown over the last five years that have no idea how to do that or even of making an effort to achieve it.
