Who said we WERE a big club? Yes Leeds would sell out because their City has close to a million people and 1 club and they have a lot of supporters spread around the country.
Secondly I don’t know how many we have sold. The Away End can hold at least 3,000. We might have sold 1,500 so far? I’m sure the certain amount of Jacks there tomorrow will be the ones making the noise. I reckon there will be at least 1,200. I would estimate there will be 1,800?
Thirdly after a few seasons we sold out our Man Utd and Liverpool allocations because we only requested around the 1,000 to 2,000 allocations and not the 3,000 we could have had. And yes there were some Liverpool fans in with the Swansea fans for example. But we have also taken these sort of crowds. In terms of our ‘real’ fans...
5,000 to Bury ( league 2 promotion match)
4,800 to Wigan (cheap tickets and Martinez)
5,000 to Sheffield United (FA Cup 2007)
2,500 WBA last season
3,400 Southampton last season
3,330 to Charlton (1st Match in Championship)
3,300 to Leicester City
3,800 to Newcastle in 1993
Etc, etc...
We are not a big club, we are our club. A nice sized club... without the plastics and tourists this season. And a nice healthy 19,331 crowd against Preston. With around 700 Preston supporters, 1,400 empty seats in the Away End. | |

Ah that makes sense. To be honest the atmosphere is better without the happy clappy Premier League only fans. Remember Arsenal away (not the Michu double day) - I’ve never been amongst 3k swans fans with such a quiet atmosphere. I won’t miss the PL only fans. | | | |
