The Government and EU can I believe stop the Super league on the grounds that it is "anti competetive". With few if any fans wanting it it would be a vote winner.

Just like BT and Centrica, a notional regulator would penalise it or out law it at birth. The US ownerhips at UK club want to form a monopoly over UK an European TV Broadcasting fees for Euro competitions.
