If both are going to play to give Ntcham a rest why not swap their positions? Smith has shown he can play the more defensive roll as Martin requires, when Downes was injured and Downes looks as if he may be better able to hold the ball up, turn and run at the opposition further up the pitch hopefully opening spaces for other players and creating more goal scoring chances.
