The 'dirty dozen' and managing upwards. 13:40 - Aug 27 with 358 viewsReslovenSwan1

I bought to your attention about a year ago the issue of he "dirty dozen". The twelve club prospects, some bought through the ranks, the other parachuted in at 18-19 by the club hierarchy and back room staff. Most ready now and do not need more games in league 1. League 1 teams have no money now and will not have money next season either.

Whitaker, Joseph, Ollie Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Cullen. McFadyan, Webb, Garrick, Dan Williams, Benda, Cameron Evans (gone) , Dhanda (gone)

He also has unresolved Fulton and Bennett.

All these players are old enough to play Championship football and only 2 of the Dirty Dozen have gone. It seems to me some might argue most if not all are an upgrade on Sorinola.

Managers come and go and club insiders, who ever they may be, develop young players and bring in new youngsters. We have one of two distinct scenarios.

a) Martin will never play any of these players.

b) Martin will play these players once they have more experience.

I think Martin is managing up and is 'kicking the can down the road'. He does not want to tell Silverstein and Levien that these 12 players will never play in his team. He therefore has 12 unplayable players in his squad. No wonder he wants new signings and no wonder the Owners will not give him them.

The Dirty dozen. Swansea city are perpetually in a state where the manager has players he does not want. No one in their right mind would suggest Courtney Baker Richardson was a Graham Potter player. He still got a song out of him and some pretty good results.
