That has to be the most diabolical refereeing performance I have seen since the Besian thing all those years ago in the cup against Southend/Scunthorpe (always get them mixed up). The only one that comes close in my mind was the one against Sunderland where Defoe scored three offside goals and Kyle Naughton got sent off for a perfectly good tackle.
Completely lost control.
Their number 6 was allowed to blatantly pull back Piroe four (4) times before he got a yellow. He got subsequently hooked at half time, should have been gone long before that. Yet our players get booked for the first offence. The Fulton one that sparked the melee, it’s clear there is a real impact there just by the way his body was jolted. Even if it’s the ref doesn’t think it’s a foul he’s taken a whack to the neck/head area and stayed down clutching his head. To play on to see if Preston score before stopping it the second we clear it indicating a head injury is just incompetence.
We’ve had him down here a few times. Arrogant little shortarse who has lost control almost every time. Hopefully we won’t see him again.
