Not likely. That journalist has done articles on several people within the sport when you look on their website. Anyway, my point is I found the whole thing interesting. You often see fans ( said it myself) saying data should not be the basis for recruitment and he explains that its not the case at all. | | | |

I wish they asked him why he left although doubt he would be allowed to reveal that. Seemed a strange situation to me given the strides we were making. Suggestions on the other site that he’s at another club which would explain it, but if he’s not then it’s an odd situation which hasn’t really been explained. There is a lot of sense in what was said. I particularly liked the part about data only being useful in service to the eyeball test.
There was generally a lot of sense in what he used to say on here too. It's just the personality delivering it that was the problem. Stating an opinion that you can back up is one thing. Responding with several eighteen paragraph posts explaining why you are right and therefore much smarter than everyone else is another.
If pushed I'd wager that ultimately that played more than a small part in our decision to part ways. [Post edited 18 Jun 13:14]
