I thought Lowe had more sense than this. But appearing in The Seth Rogan podcast and pandering seemingly to gun ownership in the US and how his poor old dad couldn’t shoot his handguns anymore has done him nor his party any favours. Why don’t they think before engaging?! |  |

I suppose the ban was for the best, although in my opinion something like a straight pull rifle has more potential to kill a large number of people. Other UK mass killings involved long guns. The Dunblane killer used four hand guns. I do feel some sympathy for some older members at the Quarry who had to give up their treasured pistols. It seems to me that changing the rules so that weapons had to be stored securely at the club and there was a limit on the number of guns a FAC holder could have, would have had pretty much the same effect in terms of any improvement in public safety. The villains don't have much trouble getting hold of a converted Turkish starting pistol or replica. |  | | |

I'm not a fan of Lowe. My comment was really just musing about a change that did disadvantage some solid citizens and could perhaps have been handled in a different way. When my son lost interest, I left the local rifle club and do not own any firearms. | | | |
