I read in Nextdoor yesterday that someone in the CCS region had put 4 bags out instead if 3 and thst they’d left them all behind, not taken 3 leaving one with a sticker.

I can’t see the sense in this. If it doesn’t get collected once they’re unlikely to try it again. But now they’ve got to take the bins that should be collected as part of paying the council tax to the nearest tip.

Why is it the council have such an attitude problem. Can you imagine all these mealy mouthed officials sitting around a table coming up with this whilst wondering how much more they can charge us next year.

They seriously need to grow up.

A routine occurrence around where I live , some will try it on and not everyone is as anal about recycling so we often see black bags left at the discretion of the ash man but the annoying thing is that a day later a one manned pickup truck comes around and collects the offending bags and off they go to the landfil. I’m all for recycling but a I’m also all for getting a service from the council which for where I live is limited to picking up my litter and bin collections which are becoming less frequent.

I'd put a fine in their letterbox how on earth with recycling can you put 4 bags out, non recycling really needs to be clamped down on

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Not everyone can drive to the recycling centers to recycle items that don't go in the kerbside collection. The council should make it easier and cheaper to collect these items.

We should be able to bin what we want in black bags, get the council to deliver it to a sorting depot and get prisoners or young offenders sorting it out. What’s not to like?

Definitely. It’s about time councils are told they work for us and provide a service paid for by us. Just pick the rubbish up and sort it. The revelation of doing this would be a lack of fly tipping.

Yes large items but if you recycle green pink and garden waste what are you actually putting in a black bag🤔

Soft items quilts, clothes, pillows ect. Part used tins of paint ect, crockery so many items that are not curbside recycling that are taken to recycling centres. Some don't drive so basically anything that you are supposed to take to a recycling centre. Its fine for me and I do take things to the recycling for elderly neighbours who no longer drive, but shouldn't these things be collected for them.

Agree with some of those things but clothes shouldn't be put in black bags charity shops and collection bins at supermarket will take them

Far to many are lazy and don't recycle and cram recyclable items in black bags

Agreed but many elderly don't drive and have supermarket deliveries, times have moved on so should the council.
