Russell Martin : The Poll
at 11:29 23 Mar 2022

We know the club isn't going to let RM go and pay compo.
So our best hope is someone else falling for his bollox

Yes I did defend him as he'd had no pre season and I always give a manager (new or 2nd/3rd year) 12 games before I make my assessment.
I gave RM 16-20 games leeway to make up for that. Right up until around that many games he whined about having no pre season.
I still think RM has a better squad at his disposal than Cooper had.

The Tapas waiter took footballers from a hoofball manager and got them playing a totally alien style to them.
Sousaball (and I thought that was boring, right up until we got Russ!) taught us how to defend after the tapas waiter gave us plan A (score more than the opposition)
Both these managers gave Brenda a really solid platform to go on to be a PL star!
Loudstrop brought us some absolutely sublime football...

Then the directors in their infinite wisdom appointed Monk to completely dismantle it all.
Brad bobbly- enough said! Although we did witness an incredible amount of goals under his leadership

My fear is that RM will waste money on players in the summer and be sacked around Xmas time because we're languishing down the bottom of the division.
I hope my fears are wrong

The Crown Jewels of football awaits Wales in Qatar
at 10:40 23 Mar 2022

Correct.
No team should be playing in Qatar.

Wonder how many of these flock like footballers that love a bandwagon, take the knee or make a noise about the Qatar record on human rights?
Or the corruption that led to Qatar winning the bidding?

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, my money would be on none.
I'd love it if all the bandwagon jumping fans and all other football fans stayed away and made this the emptiest W/C ever.
Sponsors should take a good long hard look as well and pull the money

Yeah
Won't happen.
Pity, I do believe there are more deserving middle eastern countries that were worthy of the W/C, if the organisers were determined to host in the Middle East.

I think you missed one of our more damaging managers.
One G. Monk.
Once he got arsey with the Spaniards and others, life went downhill.

The Sporting (Green un)
at 22:10 27 Feb 2022

Used to get it at the newsagent at Penllergaer on the way home from the Vetch...

Or if we were home early because all the crowds had gone, would send the kids up the newsagent to get it, or drive back up myself if it was foul weather.

Check the results on Ceefax or teletext if we'd played that badly that I couldn't be arzed to get the green 'un.
Bought the pink thing on the way back from somewhere one day. Probably because the bus had broken down or whatever

Roy Keane: Opinion on playing out from the back
at 14:04 27 Feb 2022

Keane states "situational awareness", don't understand what him as a manager has to do with that statement.
That is what every player earning a wage should understand.
All season long (and I'm fed up of saying this), our backs have been determined/ blinded by play out from the back no matter the situation.
Even 50p head used to put the laces through the ball when it was needed.

Oh no. Not ours.
Pass out from the back, to a player heavily marked by the opposition.
Then the player who passed the ball, stands dead still or runs off in the opposite direction, rather than looking to help the lad he's just put up sh1tecreek.
time and time again.

And if we can see, surely Martin can.
And if he won't correct this approach, then my mistake has been calling him naïve.
Stubbornness is stupidity not naivety

When will the penny drop?

Trouble is, we have players who can't pass it 5 yards.
We have players that seem unable to pass it to one of our men, who isn't heavily marked.

And if that's what they want to do, then it's up to the manager to change things so that doesn't matter in the course of a game

My major point on Martin is he's either too stupid to see what doesn't work or too stubborn (worse IMHO) to change it.

All season I've picked up on his preaching of playing the ball out of defence no matter what. That and quick free kicks
It puts our players out of position, gives no time to regroup or a chance for a breath.
And doesn't it give the opposition chances?

IMHO, he has better players available than Cooper had.

The Tapas waiter managed to get l1 or 3rd division players playing out from the back (albeit with plan A- score more goals than the opposition!!)
Yes Sousaball was incredibly boring, but it gave Brenda a really good platform to really push on. Plus the squad were predominantly already used to playing passing football.

I've been defending Martin on having no pre season, brought in last minute etc, so given him more time.
Brizzle would have tw@ted us had they not been so wasteful with the ball and chances.
Teams that take their chances have made it look easy.

Unfortunately, as others have said, if we stay up they yeehaa's will keep him as that's the cheaper option.
So I see no point in calling for him to go.
And I have never been able to bring myself to boo our team.

I'm sorry that this thread got derailed by Kilks warraknobber and the likes.

Some other facts you supporters of Dripford and Born Guessing want to take a look at.
Why did Wales and Scotland have more deaths per head of capita during Covid, when they were going against the advice of the medics advising westminster?
Extra lockdowns, businesses failing left right and centre and still Born and Dripford were killing more of their country's citizens than the monster BoJo*

*Waits for Kilks totaldickheadmuppet to come back and ask for facts.

Trust meeting tonight

And they did a wonderful job of making those leading and answering questions squirm.

Me for one was happy to let those who know what the f**k they're on about ask all the questions last night.
Learnt more from their questions that weren't answered than I'd have ever learnt "gobbing off".

Been pushing for another referendum ever since the very first one got ignored.
We were then in a position of having maybe 100,000 referendums until the yes to a Welsh government managed a win.

They were like "it's our ball and we're going home until we're on the winning side" school kids.

Vote Leave
Then these Yes Cymru knobs will have to get work to fund another campaign for a referendum
