First defeat of the season : Swans collapse and were never really in the game
at 11:26:25

Eckhart won the coaches contest as you'd expect with a good team well versed in his play. Swans off the pace particularly mentally, and the game slipped away. A recovery 2nd half started brightly and Saints a bit bothered but it fizzled out.
I'm not picking on Just, because I havent focussed on him in play, and theres a but of course. My impression is that hes not at the pitch and pace of championship football yet, unless im not giving him credit for subtlety. That comment in no way puts the below par team performance at his door, just his contribution.
Credit to Ronald for leading by example when he came on, with him and Widdell bringing some missing tempo with them.

League Cup exit : Swans of old fall at the first hurdle
at 09:55:26

A useful shakedown, good in parts, not gelling yet, defence still not coordinated - bodies but not brains, conjured a defeat with little help from the opposition. Plenty to work on on the training ground.
As a side issue, what's with the detachable badges on the shirt? Too cheap to embroider?

Swansea City : Elijah Just, Joseph Opoku & Moussa Yeo assessed and compared
at 12:10:02

I aways look back on a quote attributed to Bob Paisley, which I cant remember exactly so I paraphrase.
If you sign 4 players, you hope two will go into the starting 11, one will make the bench, and the other for one reason or another just won't click.
Squads of course are bigger these days and the bench much more important, but as a rule of thumb I don't think his judgement of players is far wrong even in todays game, although expectations particularly with the money involved. Perhaps Jamestown will tip the balance for the Swans

Swansea City : Club to remain resilient for now on Galbraith
at 16:16:49

This lack of a DoF has gone on for too long and is looking like a lack of professionalism by the club, and a lack of leadership from the owners. We've seen this before and it penalises the club, and unsettles the coaches, and probably ambitious players too if they think about it.
Is it the owners or is Tom the ones who havent got a grip?

Swansea City : Is there a reason why Tom Gorringe is filling club positions from a League Two club ?
at 12:34:23

That is a concerning piece. The latest owners having brought some positive impact to the club, have they now sat back and taken their eye off the ball? Once again football matters on the field seem to have slipped down the priority list.

Swans focus : Anthony Backhouse : Is he fit to referee ?
at 12:43:03

He refs at the standard we've come to expect from EFL refs. He definitely got the memo that says 'no pens for Swansea City'.
EFL standard makes it difficult to say what fouls are going to be given such is the random nature of the decision making and theres even inconsistency about where on the pitch the foul/no foul occurred.
