For what it's worth I didn't think you were unkind at all, what he said was pretty ridiculous and it wasn't made clear his age on the pod so was a bit confusing as to why someone would suggest some of those signings.
The other guest George is quite young as well around 16 and he was superb, I did a pod with him the other night and he's so knowledgeable on QPR |

For me if Eze goes and we have a chunk of change to spend we need to put together a squad which can last 2/3 seasons with a few sellable assets in there as well to develop, get ourselves in a position this summer where we won't need another 8/10 signings next summer but just 2 or 3 to push us forward and be ahead of the game for FFP for a change |

At the time my job at ITV was to do the transmission logs which is basically applying the ratings and showing what actually went to air (Was basically pressing 5 buttons whilst I waffled on QPR forums about whatever was happening at the time)
I remember getting called in for a right bollocking saying I had done them wrong as the ratings were not appearing on ITV Sport but turned out they were so low they below the threshold of appearing. That was an absolute shambles back then, great idea but put together so badly |

He couldn't have done much more, scored 44 goals was brilliant last night then the manager got cocky changed the system and took him off with the game won and they messed it up.
They were also robbed at the end by an awful offside decision
I find the stick he gets on social media a bit sad, he's had/having a great career [Post edited 9 May 9:15]

That's bang on about the tv ad market, I work within in and it's on it's arse at the moment
Where as before the money was big and shared between ITV, Channel 4, Sky etc now you have less money spent on advertising and far more competitors such as Facebook, Twitter, amazon prime, tiktok, youtube, Netflix, Disney and more so less money shared between a lot more companies, everyone is losing even Disney and co.
There is a really good podcast This is Entertainment with Richard Osman and they broke down the problems at channel 4 recently, they'll do well to survive
We have our financial update released tomorrow at ITV which will likely lead to more job losses, safe to say all our eggs are in the England doing well in the Euros basket. |

It's 7 live games in that time slot, does seem mad
Each full weekend of EFL fixtures will see 10 live matches shown - including three Championship, two League One and two League Two matches all broadcast live at 12:30pm on Saturdays.
All opening weekend, final day, and midweek fixtures in the EFL will be shown live, as will all games played on Bank Holidays including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. |

on top of the very expensive subscription fee do you notice how many ads they put out during games, far more than free to air, half time is basically 15 minutes of ads now which is where they also make a fair chunk of their money back
The whole point of it is to get people to subscribe and take eyes away from TNT games in the same slot
Also don't forget Skybet which makes them an absolute fortune based mostly on the football they show

hilarious to watch though, really pleased for Dortmund, had a nightmare group to get out of and now got to the final
My nephew has a bet going on which included Stockport to win league 2, leicester the championship, Madrid in Spain he's waiting on Man City to win the Prem and Real Madrid to win the champions league for 4 and a half grand. The cash out is 750quid at the moment but he's sticking with it |

it's not that smart, the player will know when his contract runs out so not as if we can trick him into signing for longer.

The Premier League are in a bit of a no win, they deduct points and they are accused of being bent and they don't add more on they get the same accusation.
4 points seems fair enough really, you can't give more because the bottom 3 are so inept that even with a points deduction for 2 clubs they need snookers to stay up, Burnley and Luton are going to struggle to get 30 points which is pretty poor
We've had in this league before when 6 points taken off a team and they still stay up, do that this season and teams would have been dead and buried but you can't base punishments on how bad the bottom 3 are and what you need to stay up.
For me punishments should be set out if you breach by this much its 2 points, this much 4 etc, makes it much easier to manage and cuts out the appeals [Post edited 7 May 19:36]
