The mail is one of a number of newspapers doing a job on behalf of the Conservative party. As they have done on Labour Party leaders for years, apart from Tory Blair of course. Mud sticks and that is the point of the article.

What is the truth? Certainly not as reported in the mail that is for certain. I tend to wait until there is an unbiased information available before starting a witch hunt or slinging mud.

EFL charge Macclesfield Town with misconduct following unpaid wages
at 21:05 15 Nov 2019

As ever depends on the definition of a sh1t owner.

The emperor was a sh1t owner to start with his red shirt nonsense but seems to be being more sensible now.

With Ashley it’s his relationship with the fans what he says to them how he behaves etc. Etc.

Our owners have no relationship with the fans and don’t give a flying one about the area.

Then you go to the owners of Bury, Bolton, Macclesfield and you start moving to a different level.

Our neighbours could merge with their rivals the Wurzels and play their home games in the middle of the Severn Estuary.

EFL charge Macclesfield Town with misconduct following unpaid wages

It’s not new though.

They had payment problems in their promotion season, problems last season, apparently don’t have a training ground etc. Etc. Winding up order over unpaid tax and allegations regarding the running of the club set out in a petition that supporters started today.

After the Bury backlash I suspect the EFL would be loathe to kick them out as it may lead to too many people asking wtf is the EFL doing.

They dominated the middle of park as the game went on. Thought that we should have swapped Fulton for Byers when Roberts came on.

Like every fan though what do I really know.

If we had the balance right in midfield we could potentially be way ahead. This league appears to be a much of a much ness where fans of other teams are probably saying something similar ( but about different positions in their side

Nothing outstanding at this stage

New twist in the Sala plane crash
at 06:16 1 Oct 2019

I suspect that it is the money men trying to find a loophole to avoid paying the transfer fee rather than the football people at the club. Much as I hate Colin he has behaved as if Sala was their player in my view.

Clarify the basis they are liable as the club’s legal advisors clearly believe he was never a bluebird. If they are forced to pay The transfer fee I assume they will see who they can try and chase for the money they have to pay out.

If Sala was insured then, with what has been released so far about the flight, I would be surprised if the insurers would want to pay out.

I suspect it’s going to get really nasty and this is going to run for some time.

Why are people building Leeds up?
at 12:21 31 Aug 2019

Depends what you consider to be a giant.

If you consider a giant to be any club capable of sustaining 35,000 + crowds then they are. If you change it to sustaining 45,000 crowds then they aren’t ( based on current ground capacity).

Certainly can’t argue that they have been sleeping.

Hardly pissed off - that would be running your contract down and leaving as a free agent.

Both he and the club had an offer that was too good to turn down; shows something right has been going on down here by the way he is still supporting his mates and the club.

Scotland isn’t near zero tolerance yet but is lower than England and Wales. The sensible thing to do is to drop the limit to the same as Scotland with a view to possibly halving it in time if things don’t change.

That would effectively be zero tolerance.

The next thing is sentencing. A sliding scale based on how over the limit and repeat offenders would be appropriate. If being well over the limit or being a repeat offender results in a loss of licence and consequently job then that is tough. Solicitors will always try to mitigate on behalf of their clients however there should be no acceptable mitigation.

What are the current ones? My drinks were spiked, i need the car to visit my sick/infirm (insert name of family member) or i will lose my job and be out on the streets.

Laws can be made however if the sentencing is weak they are ineffective.

Bury finally gone
at 10:28 28 Aug 2019

The clubs and EFL can’t agree details on how to beef up the fit and proper owner test. At present it seems to be no more than a check to see if the new owner has any criminal convictions.

What happens if they have or fail any new test and a deal for the club has been agreed?

Needs to be far greater regulation of owners to prevent asset stripping or loading debt onto a club.

If you look at companies house going back to 1996 a company (not a bank) entered into several mortgages with our club after previous mortgages had been paid off.

European clubs want to sign Ayew, but . . . . .
at 22:55 27 Aug 2019

A fair comment and he holds the cards. He is owed the wages agreed under his contract.

I’m of the opinion that loaning him out and paying part of his wages solves nothing. Groundhog Day next season.

Get the right offer he goes, if not stay till next window. If he really wants to go he can take a cut in wages, if he wants to stay then if he puts in the shifts he has so far, along with his talent he is a massive asset in this division.
