In what other business would this happen ?
at 08:55 4 Jan 2020

There is this candidate he has played over 350 games at the highest level, represented his country over 40 times . Assistant Manager for National Team 40 plus occasions and has been Assistant Manager at Premiership level over 570 games ( standing in as Interim Manager on 2 occasions ) .
He applies for the Swansea position in May 2019 and attends an initial interview with the Chairman. He is initially informed by the Club that they are very impressed and enthusiastic by his presentation and will look to meet ‘ in the shortness of time ‘ to further discuss the position . He receives no further contact whatsoever .
He subsequently learns that he has been passed over for an under 17 Manager who has absolutely no Managerial experience in the senior professional game .
Undeterred he is appointed in a like capacity by a rival club who see some merit in his experience . After 14 games he has 8 wins , 3 draws and 3 defeats ( two of those defeats by a single goal to Leeds and Brentford) . 27 points out of a possible 45 which statistically puts him in the top two performing Managers in the Championship, since his appointment in mid October 2019.
Symptomatic of the chaos which prevails in this Club !!!!

at 22:52 19 Sep 2018

Dying once again on his arse as he did at the Liberty. Will not survive October . On what possible basis was he ever appointed to be Manager at the Swans ? Yet another catastrophic appointment , retained for a good 2 months too long which ultimately f##ked us over

Plea to the Board- Be decisive act now (first posted Nov 19 Th)
at 18:15 21 Dec 2017

Despite it only being mid November the need for a Managerial change is both urgent and critical in the clubs attempt to secure premier league status . To make a comparison with the corresponding period last year is dangerous to the point of innate stupidity when you take into account the pitiful return that our home games have so far generated against sides who are very likely to be in the 'mix' come April / May 2018 when relegation will be decided.
I pose the rhetorical question , what did we really expect with the appointment of Paul
Clement ? An impressive CV as a coach is absolutely no basis to assume that Managerial success would naturally follow , in point of fact history suggests otherwise . Be that as it may, a cursory inquiry with Sam Rush the former CEO at Derby County may have at least shed some potential light on what may befall Swansea City as a club .
An appointment of any Manager is by necessity an inherently difficult exercise but with due diligence and a stringent interviewing procedure some ( but not all of the ) risks can be alleviated . As a matter of fact at that stage the Board in early January 2017 were presented with at least 3 other alternatives to the present incumbent , one in particular appeared to have the skill set and experience to at the very least warrant further enquiry . His CV reads almost 400 games at the highest level, 40 plus international caps , Assistant Manager ( not Coach) with 14 almost consecutive years since 2002 at Premiership level with 6 Premiership Clubs as well International Assistant Manager experience. One might conclude that type of applicant would at the very least be interviewed. Unfortunately , the powers that be determined they would appoint an individual they had overlooked 3 months earlier for a wholly inexperienced untried novice in Bob Bradley ! I appreciate that it all sounds the wrong side of absurd but as long suffering Swansea City supporters you will accept the same as the undeniable truth.
Mr Clement is in professional terms dying a very slow and undignified death, he has lost the dressing room ( sometime ago) , lost the support of the fans and tactically lost the plot . The Board know he's out of depth and cannot turn it around and need to ' grasp the nettle by the hand ' , terminate his contract and engage in a process urgently and get the new man appointed . There are would be candidates out there some who may be a good fit , some not but the process must start without delay. It is not too late to resurrect this season simply on the basis there are at least 4 or 5 bang average sides in this league who can be overtaken

How much have our board pissed against the wall in terms of severance payments ?
at 22:53 26 Oct 2017

Laudrup , Monk , Guidolin, Bradley and coming shortly Clement ,not to mention all the backroom staff that accompanied them. Take into account the horrendous business in the transfer market with the Borja s of this world . Anyone hazard a guess ? And in what other business could the CEO possibly survive such catastrophic failure ?

How can PC get it so wrong so often ?
at 17:52 24 Sep 2017

I had the privilege to sit with three former Swansea City players yesterday afternoon before , during and after the game . Between them they have over 750 league appearances the vast majority of which were for the Swans . They are all avid Swans fans . Their look of disbelief when being informed of the side selected will long remain in my memory. To a person they immediately remarked that the side would have no width, could not rationalise why Abraham was on the bench given this was a game that Swans would target as one of the six or seven teams where maximum points could be secured at home and furthermore pointed out that the proposed formation would invite Watford onto the home side . Unsurprisingly they were correct on all three counts. They further remarked that the Manager would have had a full working week to consider the right personnel and formation against how Watford would set up . For those who were at the game it was obvious almost from the start but certainly by 15 minutes into the game that the Managers planning was woefully wide of the mark , the Swans were completely out gunned in all facets of play where Watford totally dominated. It was a matter of extreme good fortune that it was only one goal that divided the teams. It then took the Manager a full 45 minutes to rectify what virtually everyone else in the ground already knew . Rewind to Newcastle /Man United home just for this season alone ( never mind last season) and a worrying lack of tactical appreciation appears to be evident . The question which needs to be addressed is whether PC really has the essential tools to make a successful number 1 at a Club such as ours ?
