I was impressed with the way Lincoln defended . They looked very solid and well organised They were waiting for rare opportunities and took them superbly ; That first finish - the inside disguised pass was a peach . The second was very well executed too. if you look at the elder Colwill just before Lincoln scored Possession is lost and he shows very little urgency to get back it was shocking to see really . Either his fitness is lacking or mental desire . I know Cardiff have the bigger budget and may well go up as champions but the Lincoln manager - whoever he is is doing a great job . I think there will be a few championship clubs looking very closely at him.
I remember Craig Bellamy talking about the difference between the Championship and the premiership . He said that premiership players were stronger fitter faster . Their all round athletic ability is greater than championship players . Add to that the passing accuracy in the prem and you can see why so many championship teams struggle with the transition. You only have to watch a prem game to realise this - they are different animals . And those "animals" don't come cheap another reason why championship teams are doomed to fail more often than not when they step up.
