So according to you, our chairman is happy to brief against his own CEO to someone (does anyone on here know you personally?) who he knows will post this information on one of the most popular QPR fans' message boards. IF this is true, it casts Hoos in a really bad light. It also indicates that there is deep discontent at the highest level with CN... yet IF, according to you/him: 'you don't appoint people in their mid 20s to executive positions based upon their well connected parents’ black books', who appointed him in the first place, if not Hoos and the board? |

On the rare occasions that I shave I still use the shaving soap that comes in a wooden bowl, a natural bristle brush and a Gillette Blue II. Had that shaving soap for about 15 years now, still going strong. Never found a better blade than the Blue II either. That combo gives me a super smooth shave and costs eff all. Plus I'm well eco friendly compared to you cants using aerosol foam! |

Yes, i could have expressed that better; what I meant was the focus on what he doesn't say, not what he says. |

The anti-Nourry sentiment runs deep on this site, less so elsewhere. People have expressed dislike for him based on his accent, his background, how he looks, how he expresses himself, what he does or doesn't say... a lot of judgement, a lot of suspicion about his motives. Personally I think the guy's doing a decent job and deserves a break from the undercurrent of hostility. [Post edited 13 Feb 20:39]

I lived on Chippenham Road (in the infamous tower block, Hermes Point) 86-90, so the Windsor Castle was my local. However I rarely visited it, because it was a pound-in-the-pot for strippers shithole by then. No live bands, sadly. It was on the way down then, and continued to decline until it was bought by property developers.... So many pubs in that area were allowed to decline and die: The Chippenham, The Skiddaw, The Elephant and Castle, The Neeld Arms, The Prince Albert, The Shirland Hotel, the Devonshire Castle.... all gone.... Fair enough Clive, that's a compelling answer against it based on quality, but what about the fact that it would keep the league competitive right to the wire? And would you really be against it if we finished 7th or 8th? I guess you've made it clear that you would. |

There seems to be a broadly 50/50 split amongst those who've contributed to this thread so far. My question would be to those against it: what if we finished 7th or 8th under this system? Would you still be opposed to it? From reading the article it looks like there will be a majority of EFL clubs in favour anyway. I think I like the idea; after all, 7th and 8th could be down to goal difference alone, so it's not exactly watering down the quality (which is why the prem are opposed). It would also keep the league competitive right to the wire for clubs who would under the current system already be "on the beach". |

The Jam played a residency at the Red Cow before they released In The City. The Nashville was my favourite venue mid to late 70s - 50p to get in, I saw so many great bands there, off the top of my head: X-Ray Spex, Lurkers, Generation X, Joy Division, 999, Joe Jackson (had a pint with him before he went on stage), Penetration, The Selecter, Wire, Adam and the Ants, Elvis Costello, Siouxsie, The Police, Madness... |

I know Penzance so well I could probably draw a map from memory, I spend at least 4 weeks a year there. A few local Cornish words I picked up down there: Perranuthnoe - fair enough now. Ludgvan Beethoven - after the great man.. Madron - after a Kray twin.... and so on... |

Talking of coconut, Ombar Coco Milk is absolutely delicious. Described by them as: a creamy, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate made with unroasted Ecuadorian cacao and smooth creamed coconut. Quite expensive mind you. Hu used to make the, and I mean THE most delicious chocolate I have ever tasted; their milk chocolate hazelnut butter bar was sensational. Then they went all vegan and stopped making it. A crime against chocolate lovers everywhere. I feel sad for all of you who will never taste it. I am also partial to Galaxy Minstrels. |
 | Forum Reply | Your top 3 films! at 18:49 5 Feb 2026
How could I forget Get Carter? I've only got a framed poster of the film on my wall FFS! But which one of my previously mentioned top 3 could I drop for it... Top 3 films is impossible really, I could easily name a different top 3 every day. Maybe limiting to genres would be easier, top 3 action movies for example... Mine would probably be: The Bourne Identity Taken Extraction Anyone want to start that thread? Or horror movies? Or romances? Or thrillers? |

Awful shame to hear about the death of John Virgo (I know digswell has referenced it below but I feel he deserves his own thread). One of my favourite, if not THE favourite snooker commentators, and a great player in his day. RIP John. |

I love that we have a player in Madsen with real technical ability. It's been a very long time coming, but boy, we have a diamond of a player on our hands. And as bosh says, with not just Vale, who is really starting to show his class, but also Bennie showing he can compete at this level (and will only get better I feel), and then add the Rolls Royce of a defender that is Ronnie Edwards, and we are beginning to see the makings of a really good side coming together, with a manager to match them. I think next season - with all the usual caveats - could be a good one for us. And finally, just want to add that for me, Walsh, who gets a lot of flak on some sites - is still getting his confidence back after a tough start as our No.1, followed by breaking his wrist. But I feel he is also going to kick on from here, and as his confidence grows, we'll discover we have a fine keeper at this level. |

I'm not sure we should change his hairstyle mate, he's doing fine with it as it is. |
