don't need wife beaters fighting a few thousand 'invaders' that live mainly rent free in their heads, in the same way I don't need the scruffs fighting imaginary battles against the social conservatives or whole countries fighting over imaginary sky friends. best people look to get on with each other and realise we only got 70 odd years on this planet in an infinite universe and we could just try and make the best of it with whoever happens to have been spat out at the same time as us on this mortal coil; look after your immediate community, get yourself educated and uppa jacks. |

still got my account, all the good people have left or are talking to themselves, useful for a bit of fantasy football stuff, nothing else, just extremes and 'free speech', vile speech. I can't believe any business uses it professionally anymore, I now actually judge businesses and would stay clear of those on there who are active. But simply a values call. |

I think we know he is going. I think we would all like the maximum return. Guess if we were masters of business we would be running the club! They will do their best I am sure. Looking at the current accounts they may have to. A useful reminder that we will be needing very careful management of funds to find the talent and system to progress. Very tough for us to really kick on, a lot of things need to come together. We almost need 6 or 7 marketable players rather than 1 or 2, so that we don't keep being a one step forward, 2 steps back club. It might be that Idah proves to be a useful buy with a season to settle in, the same way Vipi did. Remember he was one foot out the door this time last year as a player that had not met expectations! |

or, and I appreciate this is asking a lot of ALL football fans, we show a bit of self awareness and manage and be consistent with our expectations! from being on the brink of going down with a mid table championship team to not been happy with a solid mid table position, and failing to acknowledge on that basis we will not be great in all games. full stop. Don't get me wrong, of course we should question if standards are not great, but the vitriol at players and managers is ridiculous. we appear to change our strategic expectations more than trump and some of our old members appear to have never moved away from toddler tantrums and emotion that is ill befitting of their advanced years! |

Matos has done the job he was brought to do this season and get us away from relegation, and he has done that well, we have got back to being a mid table club. will see what he does with a mid table squad next year. have a bad run and will go the way of the rest no doubt. |

away from it all today so only following on stats ... possession fairly similar, we had the nudge on goal scoring opps, so any excitement presumably based on result and assumed 'effort' or 'drive' of players on the back of that. we go again for another 6 pointer Tuesday, Can't afford to lose, need to win to give a little bit of breathing space. |

OK, so we might have differing views of why the manager was pushed.
But both seem to be based on the same premise that we have a good squad? (I'm not necessarily of that opinion, but I'm simply reflecting the reasoning of the broader fanbase from Summer up to the point of sacking Sheehan)
As otherwise why bring in someone who may be more ready for a project than a motivational speech? |

This. Decent spend.
And huge positivity from the fans with a few celebs bringing in contacts, exposure and merch. Not the toxic nonsense I hear about, there was a feelgood factor.
Results not great, and so play off ambitions meant we sacked a guy for underperforming to that target. And replace with another who within 2 weeks is now in a relegation scrap.
How the narrative at football clubs is written by results but this stuff about poor players and poor owners is not what was being said by the majority of the fans Aug/Sept.
My main concern at the moment is we have a manager brought in to build a play off team with these ingredients but he is instead going to now be forced by fans to grind out results, that is probably not what got him the job ... if indeed he was first choice which is still not clear. And he doesn't have his people with him which does suggest a rush job. There is a bit of me thinking we might have got a point or two more under Sheehan over the last 3 games. |

well that is the usual turnaround if they don't perform for sure, but we spent a fair bit, so don't see how he is going to have much to play with.
in the mean time we can make the other assumption that all the players that don't play are the keys to our success ... standard wishful thinking but assume he will take a look.
surely he has been brought in to make this lot gel ... or we go down ... and he is with us for a long term project? |
