VPN and Virgin Media
at 17:41 6 Apr 2019

Hi all,

Just thought I'd pass on something I found out today, just in case anybody starts to have the same issue and I'm guessing they will.

Over this last week or so, browsing has been incredibly slow when using VPN. Streams have taken a long time to connect but then work fine, but browsing the internet has been painfully (almost to the point of un-usable) slow.

It looks as if VM are playing funny buggers with VPN and their DNS servers. I've seen today, a 10 second delay with resolution occurring, this only happens with VPN enabled.

To fix this, specifiy another DNS server. Google works fine (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

This has only occurred within the last week for me so I'm guessing they're tryng to work around streaming and VPN use.

I always change my DNS servers but must have overlooked it the last time I flashed my router.

If you're seeing symptoms as described, this will fix it..

Painter and decorator
at 21:04 18 Apr 2017

Would anyone be able to advise a tidy, reasonable, painter and decorator please?

Would usually do this kind of thing myself, but got a trapped nerve in my neck which is making things difficult. Been dragging it out for a week and the wife is losing patience fast. Got a spare room that needs painting and hallway that needs wallpapering.

Thanks

Rogue One

Watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed.

Was the first Star Wars film since the original trilogy that proper made me feel like a kid again.

Would recommend any Star Wars fans that haven't seen it yet, not to waste any more time.

Paul Duggan RIP
at 21:33 15 Sep 2015

I'm posting this here as there may be some older heads that knew Paul. Was a regular down the Vetch and away trips in the late 70's early 80's before he started his family. He was found dead this morning.

Top bloke was Paul, accompanied me to many Swans games over the years. My everlasting memory of him, is of him crying like a baby after we got promoted to the prem, for such a tough bloke I couldn't help but laugh.

I'll miss you mate. x
