Over here and has previous experience as a sporting director. Would be an appointment that would tick the right boxes. 2+2=8 possibly 🤔 |

There was a little bit of profiteering from the deal. Suprised you didn't know that. |

I had no idea who was due today but the names have shocked me. Christie wasn't signed as he was too old a few years back and yet he is on trial when we have 2 rights backs with Parker and Abdullai able to play there! Planning hey 😂 |

Rushworth was a breath of fresh air and even more so Vigouroux. Doesn't reflect well on Fisher. |

Samuel Kalu is one on the list, not sure if he is the one coming in to train today though. Might have been one they were looking at but didn't become a free agent until September so can't sign until January 🙈😬😂 |

The link with providence was through Watson for sure, I don't know the guys name but friendly with both Watson and Sheehan and was also the one behind the Myles Peart Harris signing. There is a lot of money to be made off players and this is my concern at present. |

I think the word looking at is a bit of a misguided one in this case. Another thing to throw at Williams though 😁 I think it's being done so he can have a look at us and hope the lads around the place during the international break can make an impression. |

One of them, don't know if it is the one who is meant to training with us next week, will not be coming in to train as he is signing for another club(Championship). So deffo one coming in to train, shall wait and see if the 3rd one on the list will come in to train also. A lot of free agents getting clubs in the last week or so. |
| Forum Reply | Andre Gray at 12:06 5 Oct 2024
Well there is one coming in next week for a trial for definitely, hopefully there will be another also. |

There have been a few decent free agents available but in the last few weeks a lot have been snapped up so it's forced the hand a bit here given the need for another winger and/or striker. Still a few available if we act quuck Adam Ounas Samuel Kalu Kemar Roofe Josip Drmic Samuel Tetteh |

Might be a couple of new faces in the next couple of weeks. Couple of free agents that we had an eye on have gone to clubs so hand has been forced a little. |

That was a silly thing for him to say given it had been sold out by the government years previous. Being in or out of the EU would never save steel making in Port Talbot......writing on the wall was already in place even before leaving the EU was first mentioned. |

He might have been up to speed for ligue 2 but Championship is another level or 2 again, he needs to adjust and they will be working on his fitness and conditioning. Some players take to it quicker and others need a bit more time. It's dilemmas that we could do without but under the circumstances we have to with it. Any updates on Ginnelly? We could really do with him back even if it was bedding him in from the subs bench. |

Going off subject but will be the same effect, keep an eye out with education and schools down the years......this will be the next one. Mismanagement at the top, budgets being pushed to higher management who do less teaching with few teachers now doing face to face teaching. Teachers unable to see the real issue and pushing for more money which isn't solving the main problems......people are becoming so obsessed with earning more money that they are becoming blind to what they are already being paid to do and not seeing the real issues. Off topic I know but I see so many similarities with what has happened with the steelworks demise to what is currently happening in the Schools. |

Fingers crossed on these plans but I don't hold up much hope unfortunately. I think the town will get through it but I feel there is going to be a bit of a culture shock for some families who have members working there currently, seems to be a bit of an attitude that things will be OK rather than being a bit more cautious. Myself and my mates have discussed recently how so many people who are in the works are going on holidays, buying new cars and all with the explanation that they have been told they are OK....not heard of one person who has said that it looks like the end for them, these are guts who need work with mortgages and children. It's a concern looking in from the outside, hopefully things work out for them but it seems to be an attitude that they are going to be fine because someone has said they will. I still think there is a bigger story to come from this unfortunately. |

Still something to come with the PT steelworks. Most people I have spoken to or heard from a 3rd party reckon their job is safe and/or been told they are OK. A lot of people in the steelworks are still spending money on the basis they have been told they are OK. I think come the new year there is going to be a daily news....there isn't much caution at the moment. |

Not seen it but read this morning that Williams said the depth of the squad is not holding them back! We all know, even Williams knows that is not true but I would have hoped he would have suggested that rather than say what certain people want him too say. I understand that they pay his wages but in today's world then an opinion can't be scoffed at. |

It happens but clubs need to lower their fees, it can be done if a player is intending not to sign a contract and go in a free.......the club selling will see 200k as an example as better than nothing. There is always a possibility that none of them intend signing a contract with us but I wouldn't say it's 100% the case with 3 of them. It's currently a shall we do this or that with the need still to strengthen come January or pushing on with contract renewals.....this is where the incompetencey of the owners have left us and it all falls down to their poor planning and organisational skills because they don't involve themselves enough. |

The owners are the guys who control things regardless to what is said by some, they dictate the budget with both wages and fees. The team is left short with a little budget left, it's done to cut costs and I fully understand that but there is a massive concern given the amount we have brought in over the last 7 years in player sales but yet we still find ourselves in this position.......it cries clear organisation, we have seen this and most notably last summer's absolute clusterfook of a transfer window when we signed 2 right backs even with us already having Naughton on the books and then followed up with signing 3 left backs! The owners need to be more involved and realise that losing Cabango and Darling especially will cost the club financially and on the playing field. Blaming chairmen and others employed by the owners will always lead back to the owners, they picked them and they hired them so it always starts from the top down. |

The guys in charge certainly have a lot to answer for.....football economics is just an excuse for poor planning. . January will need to see big movement and will certainly highlight the club's planning especially of our 2 main centre halves have not signed a new contract......it could certainly create an headache if we are in a good position in the league or God forbid in a bad one. Just like the lack of squad strength, I would suspect the club are prepared to take the route of 'let's see how it goes' instead of getting things in place and cementing their words of having plans moving forward. |
