Overall, most of the team played inconsistently and the team looked disjointed for most of the first half. Being down 0-1 at halftime, the start of the 2nd half showed more determination and better play from the Swans.
The Swan's first goal's buildup was more beautifully-played than the goal itself! Brilliant team passing up the left side in small, tight spaces eventually led to a nice, accurate Tymon cross to Yeo waiting to receive 3 yds in front of the goal.
Widell's assist for Idah's 2nd goal got the Swede off the hook for his poorly played 1st-half possession on the sideline in the Swans side of the field, which directly led to the Canaries only goal of the game.
Idah was one of the Swans who didn't play that well, especially misplaying a beautiful pass to him from Yeo. Like Widell, his goal got him off the hook for not scoring in the first half. Yeo, in my opinion was the man of the match for the Swans, not only for his goal but for his all-round play, especially his constant pressure on Norwich's attempts to clear the ball from their end of the field. On one occasion, his pressure led to him stealing the ball, which then led to a beautifully-played pass to Idah who for some reason couldn't convert it into the first goal of the game. |

Fulton was a key part of both goals and is my MOM. Opaku and Stamenic both played exceptionally well as did Yeo. Subs Key, Eom, and Idah were superb in their roles and contributions. I read your match report and disagree with your opinion about Stoke's possible offside not being called. I ran the post-game highlights video several times. IMO, the onside decision by the asst ref was the correct call but it was very, very close. |

I thought the Swans subs did an outstanding job and did what they had to do to change the game. It will take another appearance or two for Benson, Idah, Ishe & Casey before they get the feel as to how to play in the team. I thought Eom looked lost at times, or was out-muscled at times. I thought Yalcouye played brilliantly at times. Sheehan rated a 7. |
