Norwich head to Swansea with defensive problems and injury concerns this Saturday. We delve into the info as we await a first Swans update from Vitor Mros now the International break is done with.

Norwich City arrive in south Wales today with goals coming at both ends and an injury list awaiting clarification. Philippe Clement’s side sit 17th in the Championship, collecting nine points from their opening eight matches. Three wins and five defeats have brought 16 goals scored and 17 conceded.

The Canaries had beaten Sheffield United 3–1 away and Birmingham City 2–1 at Carrow Road before their results took another turn. Consecutive 4–3 league defeats against Middlesbrough (below) and Bolton, either side of a 5–0 League Cup loss at Manchester City, left Norwich with three successive defeats and 13 goals conceded. But they have shown much for Swansea head coach to be concerned about.

Norwich have lost leads on four occasions across those two league defeats. They return from the international break with the Championship’s joint-worst defensive record and without a clean sheet in 11 matches across all competitions. There are concerns at the other end of the pitch, too. Mohamed Touré’s shoulder injury has removed a striker who scored 14 league goals in 18 appearances after joining Norwich in February. Clement confirmed last month that the Australian requires surgery and will be unavailable for months.

The Eastern Daily Press has highlighted the uncertainty surrounding his potential replacements. Jovon Makama is still continuing his recovery from injury, while the newspaper’s assessment is that Mathias Kvistgaarden and Ante Crnac have yet to prove themselves fully. Clement’s Friday press conference is expected to provide the next injury bulletin before Norwich make the journey to Swansea. Captain Kenny McLean and defender Ben Chrisene also suffered injuries against Bolton. Both were subsequently reported to face several weeks out, although their availability for Saturday remains unconfirmed in the latest sources available.

The fixture also brings familiar faces into focus. Harry Darling could return to face Swansea following his move to Norwich, while Adam Idah could line up against the club for whom he made 116 appearances. Norwich’s official preview records that their last win at Swansea came in December 2022, courtesy of an early Teemu Pukki goal.

Focus too on the officials for this game, especially referee Andrew Kitchen, he has a record to put straight when officiating the Swans at home, That is when he is referee the Swans never win.

Saturday’s meeting kicks off at 12.30pm.

Tickets in the home ends are still available for tomorrow, not many, but today would be a good time to get yours. Millwall away on Tuesday is flying it’s hard to believe that so many are travelling (many London Jacks etc … of course) but it’s looking like a huge support. There’s handfulls of tickets for that one still. West Ham at home next Saturday has hardly any tickets left but a small block NU2 has recently been added. That has a few seats together. QPR away on the 24th (Saturday) sold out some two weeks ago. Even the Blackburn Rovers home game on Saturday October 31st is selling at a far quicker rate than seen for a very long time. Something happening maybe ?

⚽️. Good news : Jeremy Monga on loan from Manchester City (below) continues to train with the Swans and the club conveniently placed him at the training ground yesterday on the official site welcoming back Eom from the Asian Games. Hopefully now we will see what the noise is all about in a Swans shirt very soon.
