So Nico gives a nice post-match interview where he accepts praise (deservedly) for his free-kick. He goes on to admit that he doesn't take many for us but that he fancied it big time. When pressed he says he hasn`t practiced any at all.....nada, zilch,niet.
Cue Harry asked about the free-kick of Nicos says "he practices and practices. He`s always at it".

Do you really think that Niko doesn't practice kicking balls at the goal???? What are you talking about? He is a football player. Of course he practices kicking the ball at the goal and trying to get it in there.
Clive Allen was the commentator that I was listening to and he talked about watching Niko practice free kick after free kick. He specifically commented on how much Niko practices taking free kicks. Are you suggesting he was lying? Crouchy said something similar in the post-match interview. Was he imagining it?
Mores the point, it just defies logic. I have played football for just shy of half a century. Every time I have come together with mates, or watched boys messing around with a ball, the most common thing to do is to stand around taking shots, while some hapless sucker fishes the ball out of the net. That is basically practicing taking free kicks. Its not bloody complicated. You don't need a slide rule and some fancy equipment. You imagine the rough dimensions of a wall and see if you can curl it around that and still get the ball on target. |  |

Was all more to do with the editing. MOTD set Harry up to look like a mug by playing the interviews back-to-back leading to Big Ears Gary making a snide comment straight after.
