Must be as pointless being in our youth team as chelsea's.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

No point. No-one can read in Luton anyway.

Can't turn back time, he's not in the squad and the fact he never got a chance last year would suggest he's never going to play for us, a loan move should be god for him and hopefully lead to him having a decent career

I'm discussing what would have been sensible, not what now has to be done cos Redknapp fcked up. There is nothing that 'makes sense' about loaning out a RB after selling another RB so you can play a CB out of position and have a RW sitting on the bench as back up.

Im surprised he didn't loan in Aaron Hughes.

Sensible would have been playing him last year, with Isla signed and Ned able to play right back can see the logic in leaving him out of the 25, manager obviously doesn't rate him and in all honesty hard to make much of a case for him being in the 25 really. He'll be a decent lower league player and I hope he has a good career but I find it hard to slaughter Redknapp over this one

Dave, you find it hard to slaughter Redknapp over anything!

You're hardly the bastion of objectivity.

Except that he did include Shaun Wright-Phillips in the 25.

Agree with you Dave. If he was really that good wouldn't he be loaned to a Championship or Div 1 side to get experience? Loaning him to Luton in Div 2 hardly suggests that he was ready to be our back up right back in the Premier League.

His one premier league outing against Liverpool away was very promising and much superior to anything we've seen from Isla and at least on a par with playing Ned out of position.

Obviously not "the right sort"

Poll: Who do we want out of the way?

0
Harriman to League 2 on 08:42 - Oct 10 with 4217 viewsDiscodroids

astonishing that we have gone into a premier league season with , in effect , not one dedicated full back (of any quality) on either side of the pitch.

given that he nearly offloaded hans peter traore to palace, i can only conclude that he toyed with the idea of playing swp as a wing back(i can see no other sane reason for harolds inclusion in the squad 25 ) and possibly matt phillips, whose form /stock has fallen lower than a tory m.ps trousers at the chingford boys home for exceptionally talented young men.

i do not include yun in this equation as harold has deemed him person non grata in all his dealings, and made him as as welcome as doctor martin luther farage in a newham council sports day for LGBT albino's.

piss poor planning and execution .was the plan really to play our most consistent and , imo, best center back at right back, if isla struggled?

indefensible.

simpson sale. indefensible.

this tired argument that danny isnt really prem quality as both us and newcastle let him go, and he cant break into the lecister team ....i ask this ..would you have him back now?.

wasnt to shabby looking back now , eh?

all this and probably arron lennon to look forward to.you couldnt make it up.

So you think Harriman shouldn't be loaned out and should just rot in the under 21's?

I don't see the point in slaughtering anyone really, I'll leave that to others

No he should've been in the 25 instead of SWP.

Especially indefensible now that Redknapp is complaining about having no full backs.

He possibly should have been but Redknapp didn't play him in the Championship so clearly doesn't rate him. I've no idea if he's any good or not but if he couldn't get into the team last year he was never going to get in the squad this year.

I think Ehmer being left out was a much bigger cock up than Harriman

Selling Simpson was the BIG mistake.
Not including Harriman instead of SWP was too, but only in hindsight. (Despite what we might think of SWP) Ehmer would still have been more likely due to him being more versatile.

If only 2 of Diame, Defoe, Borini or the French guy Beginning with A had signed, they would have replaced Max & the little waster. Not Harriman.

IMO

I think that Luton League2 says a lot about his development.

Although he impressed against Liverpool, in what was an effectively dead game, those that see him in training (I don't just mean the first team coaches), presumably don't see him as being effective first team squad material. We have seen plenty of players over the years who have impressed over one or a few games only to fade out of the picture and end up lower or non league.

It's disappointing for all that we haven't seen him come through, maybe when/if we change manager and if he is still here, he may yet make an impression. He did play 38 games last year for Gillingham last season so he must surely still have a future in the game
