Seriously, why do Rangers even bother to enter the League Cup and the FA Cup for that matter?
Feels like the last FIFTEEN YEARS we have embarrassed ourselves EVERY YEAR with defeat to lower league opponents, often at home. We've become Cup Bankers.
Carlisle are 20th in League 2 playing 300 miles away from home and beat us. Last season it was MK Dons I believe, or was it Telford, or Dulwich Hamlet (both 'difficult places to go in the Cup' blah blah). We've had Vauxhall Motors and all sorts in between.
I think consistent 'upsets' over such a lengthy period reveal a real weakness within the club's culture. A lack of steel, determination and pride in our history which undermines whichever players wear the hoops by and large. So now we know, our reserves are not up to lower League 2 standard.
Chance to go to Anfield and at least have a game there - blown.

Not being a business man or the like but if that was my club and witnessed another embarrassment like that where the fans don't even bother showing up for anymore and are generally not surprised at our general not giving a fck attitude then I would be asking some serious questions in the house ! |  | | |

Sorry pal, that's a weak excuse and it really is high time this club worked out the reasons behind this annual cup disaster.
I haven't the time to check all European records, but you'd be hard pushed to find a 'top 30' club in any country in Europe that has been so consistently bad in their domestic cups over 15 years.

Priority is not winning the league cup atm. Probably from some of the posts about Ramsey priority should be staying in this league.
So probably Ramsey did the right thing at looking at the squad and resting his best players. |  |

I'm one of the idiot who constantly turn up for this drivel, this year, yet again, I have vowed to not go to cup matches until the club take them seriously - I expect I forget this, yet again, next year and go for another humiliating defeat. |  | | |
