I did think about that as an option for Washington (and Smith) after the Barnsley game:

It can only work if other players can step up to score, and that has well and truly happened in the last two games with five different players scoring: Manning, Bidwell, Freeman, Luongo and Wszołek. Obviously delighted to see Paul make his senior international debut yesterday. The goal just topped it off. What I will say is that it really didn't surprise me. Linfield fans were well used to seeing Paul do that every week last season for us. A special talent that has a MASSIVE career ahead of him!
Level headed and tbh, what footballer wouldn't have dreams of playing in the Premier League. If he keeps his head down and continues to work hard, then there will be no doubts that one day he will play Premier League football, whether thats at QPR or another club.
I hope I can get the chance to get over to a QPR game next season and see Paul in action.

I noticed he received loud cheers when he entered the pitch. Was this due to a large Linfield contingent in the crowd or because he is an exciting local talent?
I also read today that he travels by tube to the ground as it is the easiest transport & that he enjoys talking to fans while on his way.
Hopefully he will retain these ideals as his career progresses. [Post edited 25 Mar 2018 14:57]
