player wages 08:52 - Jul 23 with 2577 viewsenfieldargh

saw this on fantasy island(not sure why I went on ) and found this

https://footballleaguefc.com/queens-park-rangers-2019-20-player-wages/

Not sure if this is a figment of some very bored person's imagination

I checked out Spurs list which shows Jack on the bench Clarke on £25K PW.

On our list it shows us paying him £5.5K

Eze apparently on £7.5K PW, if true then he'll be able to negotiate that figure per day in the prem!!

captains fantastic

Given contracts and salaries are confidential documents, I suspect that list is pretty much entirely made up and has probably just been copied and pasted straight off the Football Manager database, which is also made up.

(I don't have FM20 to confirm or deny whether it is a straight copy though).

But are we really paying our 3rd choice goalkeeper £156,000 per annum? Doubt it.

That would be an annual cost of approx £10 million a year. Would that fit with our overall wage expenditure?

I'd have thought that Masterson would be on a higher wage than that quoted, but Barnes would look about right to me considering he was one of Colchester's most senior players.

It would explain why Hall, Leistner, Pugh etc had/have to leave, allowing room for increases to our younger players.

Think a similar thread came up last summer and yeah they're taken directly from FM20. I should know, I do the research for QPR.

These are rough estimates based on previous overall wage bills and the odd snippet from journalists and should definitely not be taken as fact! Looking at them now, I think they're a bit low across the board too!

But I do enjoy people on twitter talking with absolute certainty that X player is earning £6.5k p/w when I know it's come from something I've guessed.

Note that at the top it says guaranteed amount not including any incentive payments.

It seems feasible and you can see why Leistner was released.

I thought it was known that we don't pay over £10K per week.
And that is why the BFG (who is supposedly on that) we want to get rid off. As we could get two players for that. Also why we got rid of Matt Smith as he was on £10K as well.

I would be surprised if Lums is on £6K plus as he has not long come out of the U23's. I think some of these are very wrong.

Shodpio on £5K? That would be surprising as he's had so many injuries and been on loan a lot.

I think the Hugs rate is about right as we are I think paying 50% of his wages. But he is on loan so, that is the exception. Also shows there is now way we will sign him. West Ham would have to pay off his contract and then we would have to sign him to a 3-year contract for £10K per week. Even if we did some Eze trade, not worth it.

zzzzzzzzzz

It is surely a fabrication but it is Strangely addictive looking at other clubs supposed salaries and how low QPRs is in comparison...Looking at the Fulham page apparently Mitrovic is on 60K a week and he’s not even their highest earner!

Parking the fact that there is no real basis for these figures, it’s an interesting point you’ve picked up as to the value of Hughill in any deal *IF* West Ham were in for Eze.

Using these figures, if Hughill is on £32k per week and QPR will pay up to £10k per week, and assuming Hugill has 18 months left on his West Ham contract, then the value of buying out Hugill’s contract would be £1.7m and Hugill would need to accept that he would be on £10k per week in month 19 thereafter.

Not beyond the wit of man, but it involves a will to make it work from three sides.

I think the factor you're forgetting is agents. I think that a deal is unlikely as they will be wanting a significant pound of flesh from someone and an improvement in their clients situation. Not clear that will be the case for Hugill in the scenario you are suggesting.

Ok so covid cracked me and I bought championship manager 2020 first one in 10 or so years. Wages are ridiculous. Got QPR promotion with warbos squad plus 3 others one free transfer and 2 chap youngsters from Italian serie b. Everyone in the premier league wants around 20k a week ridiculous

Not by any means suffering it should happen, or will. Personally, I think we can do better elsewhere, for less - it was an observation.

Well better may be a stretch for QPR (not for other clubs), but can we do the same for less? I think that is possible. Other clubs have managed it to replace players with par.

This is what we have to do and which is why the Hugs thing won't happen methinks. Hence our move for K.Moore
