Mick McCarthy in his inteview said Smithies hadnt gone to hospital and was just with the physio which at least seems positive that it isnt too serious. Get well soon Alex. |  |

No worries Terryb. I was watching Sky sports news at the time and he appeared quite unwell. Had his blood pressure taken and there was talks of an oxygen mask although I don't think one was used. Have a bit of a soft spot for him, so didn't like the way he went off, especially in the times we are in. | | | |

He went down after an ariel challenge outside the area he was down and very still for a while with the trainer and assistant being very careful checking his jaw/neck. he then got up and walked gingerly to the touchline where they sat him down and called for a stretcher
i think they were concerned there might be a fracture or maybe concussion. |  | | |
