Well, what a good game at the end but NSW were poor. Their two tries came from firstly a disorganised defensive line and secondly, a silly error. Other than that, they did not get themselves enough attacking positions. Some last ditch tackles in the first half against them was all that kept Qld in it and they should have taken advantage but could not and that was that. Big problems for the NSW defensive coaches to solve as well.
The sin bin was a joke. It was not even a penalty from what I saw. A head clash at best. Better team won. Three weeks and it should be sewn up at Suncorp. | | | |

One of the best bits of Origin is usually it's refereed more in the old style, sadly that one was a much more modern refereeing performance with a lot of whistle, a lot of technicalities, a lot of bunker inteference, and the now standard bull sht sin binning for 'head contact'. | | | |

Still disagree that Cotter should have been MoM. He was good late in the game but not so in the first half when he came on. The first try came about because Cotter was out of position, behind his defence as if he was a half-back and allowing for an overload on Qld's defensive right. He was also the one who let the ball go through his legs for the second NSW try.
If anyone, Taulagi should have got MoM instead given what he did in the first half with two unbelievable try saving efforts or the "hammer" for his two tries, the second a piece of individual brilliance and a turning point in the game. To me, it was a full team effort and the team deserved MoM.
Also, good to see Alfie out there with the team as runner. He hasn't aged a bit and must be into his 50s by now. | | | |

Couldn't see the point of Picking 80 minute 2nd rower Hudson Young and giving him a paltry 20 minutes , incredibly 10 minutes less than the 30 the lumbering prop Pangai Junior got.
Young Probably Dismissed now into the origin dust much like fittler did with Cody Walker, All the while keeping yeo on for yet another 80 minutes who looks about as penetrative at origin level as a leather lace up condom on a Bendover Porno shoot.
Bad decicsions on the Frizell ' no try' and the 10 minutes sin bin for Flegler. I watch half a dozen NRL games a week and whenever a try goes up to the bunker, it seems to me that they move heaven and earth to look for for a scintilla of doubt to disallow it.
for me , the momentum meant the ball touched the grass. Even Cam Smith was convinced it was a try.
for what its worth, i.e fu ck all, heres my 17 NSW for Brisbane. Tommy Turbo looks like he is going to miss it with a head knock. Shadow of his former self tonight anyway.

Another great example of a team of champions being defeated by a champion team. There are some genuine stars in the Maroons side but I get the feeling that they just leave all that at the door and give all to be part of the ongoing legend.
I'm not sure that attitude exists with the Blues. Even if it does with individual players, they do so in an environment that implies they are just better than their opposite numbers. QLD just seem to be able to produce performances that are more than the sum of their parts.

Didn't see the match but just some of the highlights. Raiders were lucky in this one and probably very happy to walk away from Campbelltown (North Canberra) wth the points. Two tries off the post!
